• Mind, Brain, and Adaptation: the Localization of Cerebral Function.
  One of the chapters of the excellent "Mind and Body: René Descartes to William James", a book by Robert H. Wozniak, from the Bryn Mawr College. It reviews toroughly the historical role of Gall and phrenology in the history of the neurosciences.
• The Functions of the Brain: Gall to Ferrier (1808-1886)
  The distilled version of Prof. Robert M. Young's (from the Centre for Psychotherapeutic Studies, University of Shefield, UK) doctoral dissertation on the history of cerebral localization It was published in Isis 59: 251-68, 1968.
• Gall and Phrenology: Speculation versus Observation versus Experiment
  The first chapter of Prof. Robert M.
